Smoked Trout Toasts with Cream Cheese, Lemon & Capers

These smoked trout toasts are a simple yet elegant way to serve something special with minimal effort. Crisp bases - whether toasted bread, mini tostadas, crostini or even tortilla chips - are topped with smooth lemony cream cheese, rich smoked rainbow trout, and sharp capers for a perfectly balanced bite.

Makes approx. 16 pieces

Ingredients

16 small toasted bread slices (or tostadas / crostini / tortilla chips)

180g cream cheese

1 unwaxed lemon (zest + 1 tsp juice)

1 tin Sea Sisters Smoked Rainbow Trout

3 tbsp capers, rinsed

Dill fronds, to garnish

Salt & freshly ground black pepper

Method

Prepare the cream cheese

In a bowl, mix the cream cheese with the lemon zest and lemon juice. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Assemble

Spoon around 2 teaspoons of the lemony cream cheese onto your chosen base.

Add the toppings

Gently flake the smoked trout over the cream cheese, then top with a few capers.

Finish

Garnish with fresh dill fronds and serve immediately.
